A stall for “Sri Lankan products” was opened at the SPAR supermarket in Oman

May 12, Colombo: Amir Ajwad, Sri Lanka’s ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, recently opened a specialty stall for “Sri Lankan products” at the Spar supermarket in Madinat Al Sultan Kaboos, Oman.
The Sri Lankan Embassy in Oman has recently started exporting Sri Lankan food items to the Spar supermarket chain in Oman under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Economic Diplomatic Program in coordination with the Sri Lanka Export Promotion Board (EDP).
20 feet container of integrated cargo of Sri Lankan food items including Munshi products and Arya food items that recently arrived in Oman under this initiative. The Embassy with EDB facilitated the export of these Sri Lankan food items to SPAR Oman, in the first instance, directly from Sri Lanka Biscuit Limited and Trotlanga Agrarian Companies (Pvt) Ltd.
This is the first exclusive stall for Sri Lankan products launched in a supermarket in Oman. Ambassador Ajwat thanked SPAR Oman’s administration for making this special arrangement at his request.
This stall helps to showcase new Sri Lankan products to consumers. Arrangements will be made to open similar exclusive stalls at other major SPAR supermarket outlets in Oman.
