Bianca Andres retires from Miami final

MIAMI – Another injury to Bianca Andres has ended her best match since winning the US Open title in September 2019.

The Canadian retired with a right ankle injury after trailing 6-3, 4-0 against Australia’s Ash Party in the final of the Miami Open on Saturday.

Eighth-ranked athlete Andriscu, one. He wore the tape over his right ankle for the full final of the WTA 1000 event – a level below the Grand Slam.

Next week Andres will move up three places to 6th in the world rankings.

Andreas has been sidelined with injuries in both appearances in Miami since the start – two losses he has suffered in North America since early 2015.
