The runway at Des Moines International Airport has temporarily reopened after being closed for an emergency landing. The airport posted on Facebook just before 11 a.m. saying crews were working as quickly as possible to reopen the runway. Just before noon, the airport announced. The runway has reopened and operations are back to normal. According to the airport staff, Alert 3 was issued for Muni’s plane with two people on board at 9:50 am, and the pilot landed on the belly of the plane, disabling the plane. Both people on the plane got away safely.

Just before noon, the airport announced the reopening of the runway and the return to normal operations.
According to airport personnel, “Alert 3” was sounded for Mooney’s plane with two people on board at 9:50 am.
The pilot landed on the belly of the aircraft, disabling the aircraft.
Both people on the plane got away safely.
