Easter Supermarket Opening in Scotland: Tesco, M&S, Morrisons, Asta, Sainsbury & Aldi

Easter weekend is here, to be celebrated at home with the Scots on Monday before the restrictions ease.

If you are planning a barbecue or have to pick up last-minute chocolate eggs, be sure to check out which supermarkets are open.

Scottish supermarkets will have different trading hours during Easter, and some stores will also close on Easter Sunday.

We’ve wrapped up Easter weekend trading hours for Aldi, Iceland, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, M&S and Little.

Aldi closes shortly before Good Friday

Aldi closes shortly before Good Friday, and stores close completely on Easter Sunday.

However, stores will reopen on Easter Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Good Friday, April 2 – 8am to 8pm

Saturday, April 3 – 8-10 p.m.

Easter Sunday, April 4 – Closed

Easter Monday, April 5 – 8am to 8pm

Aldi stores for vulnerable and elderly customers will be open half an hour earlier, Monday – Saturday.

The opening hours of some stores may vary, so customers should check the details Aldi’s website Before their trip.

Iceland

Iceland operates normal trading hours on Good Friday and Saturday.

Supermarkets will be closed on Easter Sunday – except for a select few stores in Scotland.

Normal trading hours start again on Mondays, but it is always important to check before you travel.

Little

Little shops in Scotland are normally open on Easter weekend, although stores are closed on Easter Sunday in England and Wales.

Good Friday, April 2: 8am to 10pm

Saturday, April 3: 8am to 10pm

Easter Sunday, April 4: 8am to 10pm

Easter Monday, April 5: 8am to 10pm

Asta stores vary in opening hours

Some Asta stores will be open 24 hours this weekend, including Sandpiper Drive in Edinburgh’s Laide and Glasgow’s Cowan.

However, other stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, so it is important to check the opening hours of your local store.

Although times vary depending on location, stores are open until 8pm on Good Friday and Saturday.

The shops are open until 8pm on Easter Monday.

Tesco supermarkets will be open in Scotland over the Easter weekend.

Good Friday, April 2: 7am to 10pm

Saturday, April 3: 7am to 10pm

Easter Sunday, April 4: 9am to 10pm

Easter Monday, April 5: 7am to 10pm

Morrisons

Although closed in other parts of the UK, most stores in Scotland remain open on Easter weekend.

However, Easter Monday may be a reduced hour.

Easter Monday, April 5: 7am to 7pm

Sainsbury’s stores are open all weekend.

However, the supermarket company is urging people to get out of their shops quickly in an effort to stay safe.

Sainsbury said he expects this Easter to be “busier than usual”.
