Essex Townhall turned into a cinema and desco supermarket

The Picture House, originally built as a town hall in Epping, opened in 1912, shortly after the photo above this page was taken.

With more than 400 sites, it was renamed Pixar Palace in 1924, but unfortunately caught fire in 1935.

After being rebuilt under the new name of Empire Cinema in 1936, it continued until its final closure in 1954.

This building is now the home of an estate agent

It has many uses, including a Tesco supermarket and an estate agent today.
