Farmfoods Supermarket is set to open later this month at the former Southhand Alty store

A new supermarket will open in Southend later this month.

The former location has been vacant since the former Alti store was moved to Priory Crescent, 300 meters from East Avenue.

However, out of Hand-on-Sea, Essex, residents will soon have another supermarket to fill that gap.

Frozen food experts say Farmfoods is moving to the unit later this month.

The brand says their location at Southend’s Greyhound Way retail park will remain open despite the new opening in the city.

It will be the sixth Essex Farmfoods location in addition to stores in Pitcairn, Grace, Harlow, Clacton-on-Sea and Southhand.
