They say engaging in viral pranks is fun and games. Well, if you are not in the middle of a global epidemic.
Two influential people have found themselves in hot water on the Indonesian island of Bali, claiming that the corona virus is out of control as part of a viral social media challenge.
Utopian Josh Ballerlin and Instagram user Leah Se are said to have tried to enter the local supermarket, only to be turned away for not wearing a mask.
When Leah, known as Lisha, returned on social media, she reportedly drew a blue surgical mask on her face and was allowed inside.
The couple uploaded a video on Facebook called Exclusive Bronx, which shows Leah walking around on social media, without a mask, around a supermarket.
Although the video now appears to have been removed from Josh and Leah’s social media sites, Coconut poly Reports say the footage was shared on various websites, prompting the couple to take a major hit.
Josh and Leah have released a video with their legal representative, apologizing for the video and saying they had no insults.
“The purpose of making this video is not to insult or invite everyone not to wear a mask. I made this video to make people happy because I am a content creator, and it’s my job to make people happy, ”said Josh, according to the English subtitles that accompany the video.
“However, I did not realize that what I did could actually bring a lot of negative feedback from Netizen and that it raises a lot of concerns.”
He added: “We want to apologize again for what we did and we promise not to do it again. I would like to invite everyone in Indonesia and Bali to always wear a mask for our own safety and health. So we can help get Bali tourism back. ”
