More than 570 new Covit-19 cases have been reported in BC, 22 Island Health

British Columbia health officials have reported 572 new COVID-19 cases since the last update on May 4.

The number of confirmed cases rises to 132,925 BC. No new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 118 were reported in Vancouver Coastal Health, 362 in Fraser Health, 22 in Island Health, 57 in Internal Health and 13 in Northern Health.

There are currently 6,877 active cases in the province, 481 of whom are in hospital – 161 of whom are in intensive care. Due to incomplete data, the province says, the number of people under public health monitoring and self-isolation requirements is not included in today’s data release.

A total of 124,252 people have recovered from COVID-19 BC, while more than 1.94 million have been vaccinated in the province.

Today’s data was released as a statement to the media.
