UK retailer Morrisons has launched a new program in all its supermarkets.
The news comes after supermarket company Morrisons More Points faced a backlash from an angry shopkeeper for altering how the system works.
Now Morrisons has introduced its new faith program – called ‘My Morrisons’.
From today, all savings will be communicated in pounds and will be available for immediate disbursement, so customers no longer need to save their points or wait for vouchers.
There will be a new application with an instant reward based plan that will change the need to carry a plastic card. Customers who want to use the physics card can use their current one.
My Morrisons app offers a home for personalized offers and all Morrison online services, including Morrison.com, lunch boxes and the Morrisons Cafe takeaway menu.
In the coming weeks, additional features will be launched including the opportunity for customers to give back to the community and ‘basket bonus’ surprises and happy rewards.
Customers were first notified of the changes in March 2021, and will have until August 9 to retrieve the unclaimed ‘Morrisons More Fever’. Then they have 56 weeks to spend.
Morrison’s changes to the Morrison More plan have not diminished at all – and some shopkeepers have threatened to boycott the supermarket.
One person who responded to the message asked, “About us who shop online – can reading valid vouchers only be used in the store?
“I recently switched to Morrison’s online, already gone from the 10% NHS discount line …… I think I could switch to another supermarket!”
He acknowledged for a second and wrote: “What about people who do not own a phone, you can not get money from vouchers that were loyal to Morrisons. Bad action Morrison loyalty is a 2 way thing. I think I will do many more in the future at Aldi for my shopping.”
“Morrisons’ price on Monday is high anyway, ”a third said.
“Well, I’m old, and I don’t have a phone, so I don’t shop in a way that demeans shoppers,” said the fourth.
