The LAPD Board of Police Commissioners approves a one-year Bolawara pilot project extension

Tempe, Aris., May 04, 2021 (Globe Newswire) – Wrap Technologies, Inc. (“Company” or “WRAP”) (NASDAQ: WRAP), Los Angeles Police Approved by the Commissioners (“Commission”). Today. In August 2020, following an earlier report by the Chief of Police of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPT), the Commission approved a six-month extension to the Commission, which expired in February 2021, with a preliminary conclusion of a 360-day inspection of the Polavrop remote control device. The LAPD report dated April 28, 2021 (“Report”) attached to today’s special meeting agenda recommended that the Commission review and approve the one-year extension of the Bolavarap pilot project. The Commission voted to approve a one-year pilot extension of the Polavrop pilot program in two Los Angeles divisions. This report covers the results of the initial Bolovrap pilot project, which expired in February 2021, and provided data on Bolovrap deployment, operations, and results from using the device in the field. Submitted recommendations to the LAPD to improve the serviceability of Polavrop. The company has already made several recommendations and the rest is expected to be resolved in the next few months. Due to insufficient sample size during the initial Polavrop pilot program, the report recommended that the Bolavrop pilot program be relaunched within a year in the Hollywood and Central divisions of the LAPD prior to the final evaluation of the LAPD. The Hollywood and Central categories were chosen because of the high volume of calls in places where Bolawara is useful.
