NASA has asked Elon Musk’s SpaceX to suspend work on a win-win deal to build a lunar spacecraft, the agency said Friday, adding that the U.S. government’s accountability office is awaiting the outcome of the competition’s challenges.
That means NASA’s decision SpaceX Until the GAO issues a ruling, the Moon is expected to suspend any work specifically related to the project contract until August 4.
A SpaceX spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The high-altitude project aims to put humans back on the moon for the first time since 1972.

“Following the GAO demonstrations, NASA instructed SpaceX to suspend the progress of the HLS (Human Landing System) agreement until GAO settles all pending cases related to this purchase,” the company said Friday.
