D&T Supermarkets plans to open a new store in the Chinatown area of Toronto in the fall of 2021, and they have already accepted new applications.
The site will take up 301 College Street and plans to bring nearly 100 jobs to the city.
This is the second time the company has opened an urban space. Last year, the grocery store closed its Cherry Street store.
“When we heard that the redesign plan would mean the closure of the Cherry Street store, we knew our customers would be devastated. Although we can continue to support our downtown customers through our online shopping, we are still looking for a new store location,” said T&D Supermarket Leaders. Executive Officer Tina Lee said in a press release.
The new location is scheduled to open in September, Lee said.
The store offers more than 10,000 products, including a variety of new products, meat, seafood, groceries, daily baked goods and ready-to-eat food.
Customers can order or click to collect their groceries for home delivery online. D&T is now being hired for the new location.
D&T Supermarkets is Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with stores in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.
