A man was arrested after driving his Tesla into a Girl Scout parking lot near the front entrance of a Walmart in Granite Bay on Saturday, the California Highway Patrol’s Auburn squad said. According to CHP Auburn, 69-year-old Gary Benson crashed the car around 3:50 p.m. at the location at Sierra College and Douglas Boulevard. The CHP said that two children, aged 10 and 9, were taken to hospital with moderate injuries. Both events are Girl Scouts who were working on the ward, and a 78-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence while driving and police said he will be booked into the Placer County Jail Saturday night. This is a developing story.
