The update includes several frequently requested features, including support for external USB hard drives for the PlayStation 5 game storage. Similar Xbox Series X. And Xbox Series S, Which allows PlayStation 5 owners to move games they have installed on their console’s internal SSD to an external USB hard drive.
However, these games cannot be run from external USB storage or upgrade the computer’s internal storage. This feature is only for loading headers that you do not want to completely uninstall to free up space on the PS5’s internal drive. Regarding the M2 Drive support that Sony promised when the PS5 was first introduced, the company says it will “post you”.
Share Play also goes cross-generation, allowing the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players to view their game screens together at a party. This means you can send your controller to almost a friend or send a second controller to play co-op games together.
There are many more subtle changes to the PS5’s OS, including customization when you capture images and videos as you open the file, game library settings, and menu magnification options.
Finally, Sony claims that its PlayStation Mobile app comes with new features such as the ability to join the PlayStation 5 multiplayer session from the app, notify you when your friends are online, remotely manage PS5 console storage, compare file sorting and sorting. / Filtering games and apps on the PlayStation Store.
