Fans are calling Paul Mescal’s “nervous” energy with Zendaya at the SAGs

Even Paul Mescal can’t contain his nervous energy around Zendaya.

The “Aftersun” actor and “Euphoria” star were paired to present the SAG Award for Best Actress in a Movie or TV Series, which went to stuntman Jessica Chastain, but the awkwardness began once the duo made their way to the stage.

Mescal, 27, appeared to nervously offer his arm to Zendaya to help her up the steps — but the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actress missed it, leading to the slightly awkward first moment.

Once on stage, the “Ordinary People” performer laughed to himself apparently in response to the exchange that occurred on the stairs.

Naturally, fans couldn’t help but be entranced by Mescal’s nervous energy.

“I bond with Paul Mescal because I also would be nervous to be next to Zendaya,” a viewer tweeted.

“zendaya made Paul Mescal nervous and laugh, he’s just like me,” another wrote on Twitter.

“Zendaya’s best girl got Paul Mescal blushing a nervous laugh and s–t. I too would have the same reaction as Paul, dad,” another fan wrote.

Some also believe that the 26-year-old “Greatest Showman” star, “perverted,” actually offered Mescal’s arm to help her up the stairs given her heels and flirty dress.

One observer tweeted: “Paul Mescal tried to help Zendaya up stairs and she said nah.”

“SAGAwards WHY DON’T ZENDAYA TAKE PAUL MESSAL’S HAND ????? LMAOOO I feel so embarrassed for him 💀,” another tweeted.

While Zendaya’s intentions aren’t entirely clear, she may have had longtime boyfriend Tom Holland on her mind; Unfortunately, the “Uncharted” star didn’t attend the SAG Awards with his girlfriend on Sunday night. He also didn’t attend the 2022 Emmys with her either, as he was filming “The Crowded Room” at the time.
