Jordan Henderson’s future hinges on transfer fee negotiations with Liverpool after the midfielder verbally agreed a lucrative three-year contract with the Saudi Premier League side.
The England international has agreed a deal in Saudi Arabia worth close to 700,000 pounds ($917,000) a week.
Henderson is ready to end his illustrious 12-year stay at Anfield and link up with former teammate Steven Gerrard, who was appointed Ettifaq coach earlier this month.
However, the Saudi club has not officially started talks with Liverpool, who have no intention of letting their 33-year-old captain go cheaply.

Henderson still has two years remaining on his current deal, which is worth around £200,000-a-week, and is still part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for next season.
The former Sunderland midfielder made 43 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions in 2022-23 and started his last England caps against Malta and North Macedonia.

Senior figures at Anfield have rejected suggestions that Henderson could be given a free transfer or sold for a fee as low as £10m.
Defender Kalidou Koulibaly, 32, recently moved from Chelsea to Al Hilal for around £20m, and Liverpool will look to that fee as a reference point for talks.
While Liverpool await Henderson’s official approach to the deal, Klopp’s side are preparing to travel to Germany on Saturday for a training camp in the Black Forest.
Midfielder Fabinho is also the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia. However, Liverpool are yet to receive a £40m bid for the Brazil international from the Confederation.
