MLB rescheduled three games due to Hurricane Hillary, a highly anticipated Category 4 hurricane expected to hit the southwestern United States. All affected matches have been moved from Sunday to a doubles match on Saturday. Here’s what you need to know:
- The Padres and Diamondbacks will play a split doubleheader with starts at 3:10 PM ET / 12:10 PM PT and 8:40 PM EST / 5:40 PM PT at Petco Park on Saturday.
- The Angels and Rays will play a split doubleheader with starts at 4:07 PM ET / 1:07 PM PT and 9:07 PM EST / 6:07 PM PT at Angel Stadium on Saturday.
- The Dodgers and Marlins will play a separate doubleheader with starts at 3 PM EST / 12:00 PM PT and 9:10 PM EST / 6:10 PM PT at Dodger Stadium on Saturday.
- Tickets purchased for Sunday’s games will be honored during the first games of Saturday’s split-header games, according to MLB.
Other affected events
The Los Angeles Chargers are set to play the New Orleans Saints in a preseason game at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. The NFL watches Hurricane Hillary make its way up the Pacific Coast. The game is currently still scheduled for 7:05 PM ET.
The Los Angeles Galaxy’s regular season game against Real Salt Lake has been postponed from Sunday to October 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park due to expected storms in the Los Angeles area. Tickets purchased for the original match date of August 20 between the two teams for the rescheduled match will be honored.
LAFC also moved its Sunday game against the Colorado Rapids to Wednesday at 10:30 PM EST / 7:30 PM PT at BMO Stadium. Tickets purchased for the August 23rd event will be honored.
