Hollywood veteran Stephen DeKnight is shocking comments he made about “Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega as being “toxic” and a “checker.”

“I can’t stress this enough: She’s an incredible talent,” said DeKnight, 58, who produced and wrote the script for shows like “Daredevil” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” during a career spanning several decades.
He added, “It was just an unfortunate situation to publicly expose creative differences, and I’ll also admit that the writers are on edge because of the impending strike, myself included. A perfect storm.”
The comments come after “Scream VI” star Ortega revealed on The Dax Shepard ShowArmchair expertThe podcaster who changed lines on a popular Netflix series and acted “unprofessionally” at times.
“I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my feet more on a set in a way that I had to on a Wednesday,” Ortega stated earlier this week.

On the 48-year-old Sheppard’s podcast last week, the “Wednesday” star admitted that she put her “foot in” almost “unprofessional” for the Addams Family character she was “very protective of.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down more on set in a way that I had to on Wednesday,” she said. “Everything she did on Wednesday, everything I had to play, made absolutely no sense for her character.”
Ortega previously revealed that filming the show made her cry “hysterically” due to her hectic schedule.
“It used to come on two hours early, do it 12 to 14 hours a day, and then go home and get Zoom and pick up whatever lesson you’ve learned,” Ortega recalls.

Despite her questionable behavior on set, Ortega is slated to star in the series’ second season – in addition to serving as one of the executive producers.
