Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, has reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the seventh week in a row.
The latest offering from the Grammy-winning artist, 34, sold 148,000 album-equivalent units for the week that ended June 6, according to Luminate Statistics, per painting.
The album’s overall numbers dropped 16 percent in one week, becoming the first record to achieve the feat since Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time which ran 12 weeks at the top last year from March 18 to June 3.
Within Swift’s personal catalog, the streak of seven consecutive weeks helped Tormented Poets Section surpass her album Folklore for consecutive weeks at the top spot. “Folklore,” released in July 2020, was at No. 1 for six weeks initially, and eight weeks overall.
Overall, Swift’s longest debut albums to remain at the top spot are 2008’s Fearless and 2014 record 1989, both of which spent 11 weeks at number one.
This week’s milestone marks the 76th anniversary of Swift’s No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, the highest-grossing album ever for a solo artist, while the late Elvis Presley held the No. 2 spot with 67 weeks.
Swift remains tied with Jay-Z for most No. 1 albums by a solo artist, with 14 total, according to Billboard.

Swift, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, 34, spent the weekend in the UK in Edinburgh, Scotland.
While Swift was performing to huge crowds outside over the weekend, the NFL star showed off his hitting skills on Saturday by winning a home run contest at a softball charity event in Eastlake, Ohio, hosted by the Cleveland Browns’ David Njoku .
Kelce, who grew up in Cleveland, arrived at Classic Park, home of the Lake County Captains Little League, just as the event was on.
As he made his way onto the field, Kelce shook hands with some fans before giving a warm welcome to Browns defensive end Myles Garrett and quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Once in the batter’s box, Kelce, who played baseball in high school, put in an impressive performance.
After connecting on his final swing and sending another ball over the fence for the win, Kelce flipped his bat in celebration and took a victory lap around the bases.
Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion, has grown close in recent years to Njoku, who enrolled at Tight End University this offseason.
“That’s my friend, man,” Njoku said. “He’s one of the purest human beings I’ve ever met in my life honestly. Always means good. Just overall great dude.”
Kelce has always supported the Cleveland baseball team, and last year he made an ill-fated ceremonial pitch that he threw like a football.
Kelce stayed busy throughout the holiday. He recently participated in organized team activities for the Chiefs and visited the White House when President Joe Biden hosted the Super Bowl champions.
