Update September 2 below. This post was first published on August 30, 2023.
Apple’s fall special event, where it will no doubt unveil the 2023 iPhones, a couple of Apple Watches and even new AirPods, is probably just days away. It will take place on Tuesday, September 12 – full details of the event announcement here, and your full review of the lead-up to the iPhone release, possibly Friday, September 22, here. And now Apple has revealed more.
Apple has now updated its system Events page over to apple.com to tell us more about what’s coming.
First, it reaffirms the date and time on the invitations sent on Tuesday, saying, “Watch 9/12 at 10am PST.”
And now he reveals how you can watch it: “Watch online at apple.com or on the Apple TV app.” This is useful, even if it is not unexpected. Apple will likely announce more ways to watch between now and keynote day.
There’s also a button you can click to add the event to your calendar, so you don’t forget to view it. But you weren’t about to forget, were you?
The rest of the page is dominated by the image from the invitation, a carefully sculpted Apple logo in black, blue, gray, and even hints of silver-gold. Black, blue, and space gray likely refer to the colors of the iPhone 15 Pro, but it is believed that there will be no gold iPhone 15 Pro (which is the first time there has been no gold iPhone in the lineup since the launch of the iPhone Xs in 2018).
However, the image is dominated by tiny specks of light escaping from the logo. If this were a novel from Philip Pullman’s extraordinary “His Dark Materials” series, it would be nothing like the dust that mysteriously fills the universe.
Since we don’t live there, the swirling particles seem to refer to the expected matte frame of the iPhone 15 Pro. Instead of the shiny stainless steel bezel found on Apple’s flagship phones since the iPhone X, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are believed to have titanium bezels, matte rather than glossy.
There is one thing missing, though. Apple usually has great augmented reality animations that can be viewed on the iPhone, for example. This is so much fun. But there is not one this year. Oh alright. The animation here makes up for that.
Another small detail. Apple creates a hashtag for Twitter, or, as we say now, a hasmoji for X. As Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Marketing, tweeted, “Wonders await. September 12th. #AppleEvent.”
It followed – and how is the attention to detail? Apple logo in colors that perfectly match the landing page invite. More details as we have it.
September 1 update. Now that the special event has been set, the release date is supposed to be Friday, September 22nd, and speculation is mounting as to why it’s so important. Oh, and there’s good news about the iPhone 15 Pro Max, let’s hope.
Mark Gorman at Bloomberg He commented that this year’s release is particularly important for Apple because “their sales have plummeted Three quarters in a row The company is facing fragile demand for smartphones and other devices. The new products should help restore growth this holiday season, Apple’s biggest sales period of the year. Together, the iPhone and Apple Watch bring in the majority of the tech giant’s revenue.
It’s believed that Apple Watch models will see a big speed boost, and while the Series 9 and Ultra will seem mostly updates, there will be new colors, including Ultra Black (which looks great).
As you have undoubtedly noticed, there have been strong rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro Max release date will be delayed. This is believed to be due to the complexity of construction in the Max’s exclusive periscope lens. trusted analyst Now said Ming-Chi Kuo of TFI Securities“The fact is, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will start mass shipping this week.” Which means it shouldn’t be delayed – although it may still be in very high demand, even despite the expected price hike.
Update 2 September. The latest evidence mentioned above is that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max will arrive at the same time as others in the roundup, and not as late as was feared. However, if that is what you want, you can expect demand to be high and supply to be a bit constrained at first.
However, there are now rumors that there will be a fifth iPhone on sale. If so, what is the release date for that?
The report has gained a lot of traction. One who discussed it is Majin Boothis increasingly reliable leaker.
And they say: “Based on the information that I was able to obtain, we can see changes in the new iPhone 15 lineup. It is possible that Apple will offer a version called iPhone 15 Pro Max with 6 GB of RAM and storage space of up to 1 TB, and another version called iPhone 15 Pro Max. The 15 Ultra comes with 8GB of RAM, up to 2TB of memory, and much better camera features than the average Pro. The iPhone 15 Ultra price could be subject to another increase of around $100.
this is interesting. Before we go any further, I don’t think there is an iota of truth in this. Five phones, one of them a different specs version of the most expensive phone, seems preposterous, and would make it hard to tell the story of the iPhone clearly. And to be fair to Apple, they are great at telling a clear story.
I think a Pro Max with 2TB of storage and updated RAM to help is certainly a possibility, but the range would be amazingly wide. Right now, there are eight phones: four iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE. My prediction is that we will see four iPhone 15 models, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 13 (but not small) and iPhone SE.
I hardly wrote this update however Mark Gorman From Bloomberg Share. In a tweet, he wrote: “There is only one new high-end 6.7-inch iPhone. No Pro Max and Ultra this year. Maybe next year as I wrote in February.
By the way, if this happens next year, I expect the range to be iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra (note no number). But we are very far from that now.
So, in response to the question, when will the iPhone 15 Ultra arrive?
never.
