Tracks down the 53-man Philadelphia Eagles roster ahead of the 2023 deadline – NBC Sports Philadelphia

The Eagles have until 4 p.m. on Tuesday to reduce their roster from 90 to 53 players.

This will not be the final 53-man roster. But it is the starting point. Several players who were cut would end up on the 16-man practice squad.

We’ll be keeping track of all the cuts here:

TE Terry Jackson: The 6-foot-7 former college quarterback has been an interesting prospect for years now, but he won’t make the 53-man roster. It looks like the Eagles will return to the tight trio of Dallas Goodert, Jack Stoll, and Grant Calcaterra for another season. (Tom Bellicero from NFL Network)

T Dan Arnold: The Eagles are relinquishing the veteran tight end. Arnold is a veteran but he’s buried in the depth chart and hasn’t done enough to break away this summer. (Tom Bellicero from NFL Network)

QBIAN book: After the Eagles drafted Tanner McKee in the sixth round, the Books were locked in an uphill battle to make the roster. Then Mackie far surpassed him in training camp and pre-season. Bock joined the Eagles after final cuts last season but will be released by them this year. (NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport)

OT Dennis Kelly: The Eagles brought Kelly back this summer to boost their depth tackle but he didn’t have a very good summer and ended up as a third baseman. (Philadelphia Inquirer Jeff McClain)

First Brit Tooth: The Eagles tried to play Toth as a center for the second team this summer but he really struggled to catch the ball. That prompted the Eagles to bring in Josh Andrews and push Toth down to the third unit and eventually off the roster. (Philadelphia Inquirer Jeff McClain)

First Josh Andrews: When Toth struggled early in camp, the Eagles added veteran Andrews and at least rounded things out on the second team. But there were better options on the menu. (Philadelphia Inquirer Jeff McClain)

WR Johnny King: The 6-foot-5 wide receiver joined camp late after being cut by the Colts but has done some nice things in his short time. Menu making has never been off the table. (Inside Andrew DiCicco Bird)

OG Therese Robinson: This is not a big surprise. Robinson is buried at the Third Team Guard Camp. (Philadelphia Inquirer Jeff McClain)
