Pre-game updates

Looks like there’s no Saquon Barkley vs. Carolina game. No surprise.

Hosts the New York Giants Carolina Panthers in Pre-season NFL Friday at MetLife Stadium. The game time is 7 p.m., and will be broadcast by WNBC regionally and NFL Network nationally.

The majority of Giants linebackers are expected to get some playing time, though that remains to be seen.

This will also be the Giants’ first chance to play on MetLife’s new turf, a state-of-the-art surface called the FieldTurf Core. This lawn looks much softer than MetLife has previously installed. Will it help prevent the seemingly high number of leg injuries that have occurred at MetLife in recent years? We will find.
