Winners and scores with Jey Uso exiting WWE

WWE SmackDown has announced a “Hail to the Chief” party where Jimmy Uso is expected to return to Bloodline after betraying his brother Jey. SmackDown also announced Karrion Kross vs. AJ Styles and Santos Escobar vs. AJ Styles. Austin Theory for the United States Championship.

The main event segment saw Jey Uso laying Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and his traitorous twin Jimmy before announcing he was out of Bloodline, out of SmackDown and out of WWE.

Last week’s WWE SmackDown broadcast had 2.248 million viewers.

Charlotte Flair and Asuka battle to a no contest

Kevin Patrick did the commentary with Corey Graves and Michael Cole which means someone else is micromanaging his every word.

Damage is stopped by CTRL and they take control of this match with Charlotte and Asuka winning. Dakota Kai was with the group as well, so her return at SummerSlam wasn’t temporary.

I’ve been patiently waiting for Bianca Bellair to get her back of some sort, but not yet. Soon, hopefully, the wait will be worth it because a heel turn.

Charlotte vs. Asuka Grade: B-

AJ Def Styles. Carrion Cross

Backstage, Austin Santos Theory attacked Escobar and took his knee out. Over SummerSlam weekend, the streets were telling me to be on the lookout for L.A. Knight to crash the title show in the United States. With Escobar’s disability (kayfabe), could this be his way?

Corey Graves does a great job playing defense counsel for Karrion Cross and Scarlett’s underhanded tactics throughout this match.

The storyline of this match had Scarlett repeatedly interfering, only for Michen to even in the end. After another clean win for AJ Styles over Kross, Karrion’s comeback run in WWE remains a straight line with no clear path.

AJ Styles vs. Karrion Kross Grade: C+

Edge returns

Edge laid on Sheamus like a million bucks, and even before he called the Brawling Brutes into the ring, My Spidey Senses yelled “heel turn.”

Sheamus showed the clip of Edge falling off the bike, which led to Edge realizing he could bump again. In the clip, Edge showed off a bruise on his “white, bare butt”. When Edge backed off Sheamus to show the shots, Sheamus Edge stated that Edge had shown it Much more on TV.

As cute and comforting as this part was, it took a while for the audience to warm up to it.

Sheamus and Edge presented each other with their flowers, and in celebration of Edge’s 25th anniversary, Edge and Sheamus agreed to have a match for the first time ever next week.

Edge grade: B-

Los Angeles Nite Dave. Top Doll

Michael Cole really said it was Hulk Hogan’s birthday and hip-hop’s 50th anniversary… in the same sentence!

Part of Cole’s weekly burial for Top Dolla included Cole “spitting some dicks”.

Kevin Patrick asked the toughest question of the night: “Cole, what have you got against Top Dolla?”

Corey Graves compared LA Knight to DJ Khaled because he says the same thing over and over again. Looks like WWE is pushing Knight through his hard teeth.

LA Knight vs. Top Dolla Grade: C+

Rey Mysterio Def. Austin theory

Backstage, Bobby Lashley met the Street Professs in a low-key living room. This group is similar to a pack of black rats.

Santos Escobar was again attacked by Theory, forcing Rey Mysterio to contest the United States Championship in his stead.

Rey Mysterio had a very good match against Theory, who was able to get quite a bit of heat due to his power-ups. The heel finally got his bearings when Mysterio fired the upset.

Rey Mysterio and Dominic Mysterio are now the United States Champions.

With so many turns in the air, add Santos Escobar to one of the many possibilities.

Salute to the chief featuring Roman Reigns

Calgary acknowledged Roman Reigns’ takeout despite the anti-Bloodline sign the fan was waving in the background.

Jimmy Uso walked into the crowd, chanting “It’s sold out!” Then Reigns paused on a chant that had begun to develop but never fully materialized.

Reigns asked what Jimmy wanted in return for his betrayal, and Jimmy said he didn’t want anything from Roman Reigns.

Taking a page from Reigns’ garden-variety manipulation, Jimmy said he did what he did because he loved Jey, and was afraid of losing Jey. Jimmy then said he didn’t want J to be “cocky and manipulative like Roman Reigns”, which led to chants of “hole”.

Reigns took this messy Uso breakup to gloat and said “I told you so!” He was met with a super kick for his troubles. After blocking Solo, J hits a superkick and spear. Jimmy went to hug J, and ate a super kick, too. Then Jey Uso said he was out of Bloodline, SmackDown, and WWE.
