Electric Zoo cancels the first day of the 2023 edition

The Electric Zoo NYC EDM Festival has canceled the first day of its 2023 edition. The notice came hours before the gates opened at 3pm today (9/1), and the organizers say the cancellation was because they couldn’t finish building the main stage in time due to Supply chain disruption. Here is their full message:

Dear Electric Zoo Family,

With a broken heart, we deeply regret to inform you that despite our tireless efforts and commitment around the clock, we have made the painful decision to cancel the first day of Electric Zoo.

This year has presented unparalleled challenges for everyone. Global supply chain disruptions have affected industries all over the world, and unfortunately, our beloved festival has not been immune. These unforeseen delays prevented us from completing construction of the main phase in time for day one.

We know how important this day is to all of you, and seeing your enthusiasm made it even more special for us. Sharing this difficult news is honestly heartbreaking. We are deeply disappointed and disappointed, and so sorry to let our Electric Zoo family down.

We will refund the full amount of your Friday ticket. For those with multi-day tickets, you will get one day credit. Similarly, all Friday ferry and bus ticket holders will receive a full refund, and those with multi-day transport tickets will receive a refund equivalent to one day’s amount. We will ensure that this process is as smooth and quick as possible.

On a brighter note, Saturday and Sunday are set to be truly magical. Starting at 1pm both days, we look forward to uniting with all of you to celebrate life, music and dance as the sun sets against the iconic backdrop of the New York skyline, right in the heart of New York City. Let’s come together, stronger than before, to create moments that will be etched in our memories forever.

While words cannot fully express the depth of our regret about the first day, please know that this decision was not taken lightly. Your safety and experience is always of the utmost importance, and we didn’t want to compromise the quality and integrity of the event you truly deserve.

We ask for your forgiveness and understanding during this difficult time. We are very sorry for all the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause. Your unwavering support has always been the backbone of Electric Zoo, and we pledge to make the remaining days of the festival an unforgettable experience.
