As the leak showed yesterday, the dynamic island with circular, pill-shaped cutouts will be standard across the entire range and not exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max anymore. The Pros also have slim bezels, and while it’s hard to tell from these photos, the edges are slightly curved around the edges.
iPhone 15 Pro vs. iPhone 14 Pro
What’s easier to see is that there will be five major differences between the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro:
- The sides of the iPhone 15 Pro are more rounded than the iPhone 14 Pro.
- The iPhone 15 Pro will have a titanium body instead of a steel frame giving it a matte look instead of a glossy finish.
- The new Pro model will have a programmable button in place of a mute switch.
- The cameras on the iPhone 15 Pro won’t stand out as much, likely because the phone will be a bit thicker.
- The new phones have a USB-C port instead of the Lightning port.
There is no doubt that the design changes are very subtle and probably will not be noticed by the average user. Still, it’s nice that the set has a uniform look, but even though Dynamic Island is coming to base models, the 120Hz refresh rate will probably still be limited to the Pros.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will also likely get a 48MP camera this year, but they won’t be powered by Apple’s latest Bionic chip. It is also rumored that the top model, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, will get a new periscope camera that could help it become the best camera phone of the year.
