Pittsburgh Steelers @ Atlanta Falcons

the Jaylen Warren The noise does not stop: Warren continues to mix remarkably with the starting linebackers, a sign that he will see a similar amount of time playing in the regular season.

• Nagy Harris Domain took to Two plays at a time at most before Warren came up for the third play.
• The NFL Network pregame show spoke at length about how the Steelers said this would be more of a running back duo this season — like the classic Thunder and Lightning pair — and that the team would limit Harris’ playing time.
• We started to see this shift late last season.
• Harris took 30 firsts on the first drives of games from Weeks 1 through 14 last year, compared to two by Warren and two by other backups.
• This has changed over the past four weeks, as Harris has 13 points compared to Warren’s four. During the preseason, Harris played eight and Warren played four.
• Harris will likely remain a leader in the early action when he’s healthy, but Warren has slowly but surely cut his playing time short.
• If Warren continues to take over all consecutive starts and a third of the early starts, he could have independent value this season, while Harris won’t deserve a top 20 finish at the back.

Calvin Austin III Gets more done with beginners: The former fourth-round pick has returned from an injury to Lisfranc and moved up the depth chart.

• In the Steelers’ first preseason game, Olszewski’s gunner And Cody White He played a shot with the first team. Austin did not start play until Pittsburgh’s second drive, which is when the backups arrived.
• The following week, Austin and Olshewski each received snaps from the start, with Austin performing a fake finish.
• Austin was the only reserve receiver to play a snap with the start against the Falcons. He caught 2 catches, including a 3-yard delivery on the end.

• He was used primarily as a run blocker, catching at most one pass per game.
• At least, he fell below Kyle Bates, Juno Smith And My Cole Pruitt Based on preseason usage in all three games, plus linebacker Keith Smith.
• John Fitzpatrick He was the primary receiving tight end in this game, so if Atlanta wanted to keep a fifth player who was more of a receiver than a blocker, Fitzpatrick could join the roster.
• If Atlanta chooses to keep five fullbacks, Heisei’s job will probably be safe, but the fact that he’s playing at all in this game isn’t a good sign.

Indianapolis Colts @ Philadelphia Eagles

Dion Jackson Starting for the second week in a row: Jackson seems to be topping the Colts backup job.

• Jackson caught every snap with the Colts rookie during their first two drives, which ended with a 3-yard touchdown run.
• Evan Hull, Who started the first pre-season game, took the third drive. His drive also ended in a touchdown run.
• Jackson again got to start on Indianapolis’s fourth and fifth drives, splitting time with Hull.
• veteran Kenyan drake He signed with the Colts three weeks ago and played in the first quarter last week, but didn’t get a chance to start tonight.
• Jake Funk He received his first attack shot by Drake, which puts Drake in the bubble list.
• Jonathan Taylor It was granted permission to explore for commerce and is still listed by the PUP, while Zac Moss He stays outside with a broken arm.
• This means that Jackson could be the starter of the first week in Indianapolis.

• McKenzie played in this game, though not until the second half with the backups.
• We can expect Downs to get a lot of playing time for the Colts in Week 1 and beyond.

Multiple Colts tight ends make their preseason debut: both of them Drew Ogletree And Mo Ali Cox Take the first shots of pre-season.

• Indianapolis used a three-man rotation with Mo Ali CoxKellyn Granson W Gilani Woods Last season. Ogletree was a sixth round pick and was on his way to being in that rotation before he tore his anterior cruciate ligament, costing him his rookie season.
• Granson was the only one of the four to play this pre-season. He started the first game and was among the starters who missed the second week.
• How the Colts have used their tight ends this season is especially interesting because they have a new coaching staff. They’ve had talented players in recent seasons, but the constant rotation of players has made it impossible to trust anyone for the purposes of fantasy football.
• Ogletree started the game. He either led the team in offensive snaps on each of his first three drives with starts or was tied. Granson wasn’t far behind.
• Alie-Cox was clearly third on the depth chart tonight, though he also had two starts. He just returned to training on Wednesday, so his limited shots in training could have contributed to his game time.
• Woods has the most positivity at tight ends, but he missed the entire pre-season with a hamstring injury.
• The goal was to show a tight end in Indianapolis, but instead it looks like we could be stuck in another turn. It’s too early to be certain Woods will be back and healthy.

The Eagles are likely to keep all four linebackers: Philadelphia rested their starting players and key backups, which included all four running backs fighting for the starting job.

• D’Andrea Swift, Kenneth Ginwell, Boston Scott And Rashad Benny The game is all paused.
• The pre-season has given us few indications of how to use it outside of Penny being a potential fourth on the depth chart.
• Swift, Gainwell, and Scott each played in two of three games and had single-digit shots in the only game they played. Penny played 33 shots over two games.
• The running back with the baserunners has always been a single player playing several snaps and their night is over, giving no indication of the situations in which any of the running backs might be used.
• The way the Eagles use their Week 1 running backs may be the highlight of that game’s fantasy recap.

Miscellaneous notes

• the Philadelphia Eagles Wide receivers are also located AG Brown, Devonta Smith, Quiz Watkins, Olamide Zakka, Britain Coffee and narrow ends Dallas Goodert, Jack Stoll And Grant Calcaterra. Just one or two running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends who played today might make the team.
