At least one person has been killed in a shameful shooting at the main terminal of Vancouver International Airport.

According to Postmedia news sources, the shooting took place outside the domestic terminal from 3:00 pm to 3:25 pm. At 3:35 pm, two RCMP officers connecting the closed airport parking lot to the domestic terminal could be seen running through Skybridge.

They seemed to be heading towards the south end of that terminal and another person ran in the opposite direction.

One person was shown on social media in front of Canada and international departure signs, another person and an RCMP.

The killer and his accomplices fled in a Honda pilot and fired at police as they exited. A vehicle burned in the Royal Heights neighborhood of Surrey is later believed to be linked to the murder.

According to the YVR report, the incident took place outside the main terminal. The airport is open and secure with restricted access.

Five bridge crossings on Sea Island have also been closed. All lanes of the Massey tunnel have been closed.

Translink has discontinued Canadaline service in Richmond. Trains currently operate only between Waterfront and Richmond-Breakhouse stations.

Metro Vancouver Transit Police are urging the public, if possible, to avoid Sea Island and YVR today.
