How do you see the conjunction of Jupiter and Venus this week?

Denver – If you’ve been outside in the evening, you’ve likely seen the planets Venus and Jupiter shine brightly at sunset.

These planets have been getting closer and closer each night and will end in conjunction on Wednesday, March 1st.

A conjunction is when multiple planets appear very close to each other in the night sky.

On March 1stVenus and Jupiter will be so close you can cover them with your pinky finger.

In Colorado, the best chance to witness the pairing will be on Tuesday evening and early Wednesday.

A winter storm will bring clouds and a chance of snow to much of Colorado later Wednesday, and the chance of seeing the conjunction Wednesday night will be less than 50%.

The reason for this celestial event is very simple. As the planets orbit the sun, we see them shift in the night sky.

In this conjunction, Jupiter and Venus will line up in view of Earth. It’s a pretty cool sight, considering Venus and Jupiter average over 400 million miles between the two.
