Basketball Player Grimard Named to Second Team All-Conference

By Tyler Van Allen

Junior Josh Grimard was recently named to the USA South Second Team All-Conference team for Basketball.  Grimard averaged 14.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the Panthers. He shot 43% from the floor, 37% from behind the three-point line and 74% from the free throw line. Grimard’s 14.2 points per game scoring average was ninth-best in the USA South this season. “I felt honored to get recognition for my hard work, especially when I was playing with a torn meniscus in my knee,” Grimard said. However, the junior forward couldn’t have done it without his teammates. “Without the guys, I wouldn’t have had the type of success I was able to accomplish this season.” Grimard had special bond with his teammate, Senior Guard Javon Miller. “Playing with Javon was a privilege because we both played high school ball together, and having that chemistry already helped.” With his senior year coming up in the fall, Grimard has the ultimate goal coming off his best season: “I would like to be Player of the Year, but I’d love to win the USA South Conference with my teammates because without them this wouldn’t be possible.”
