United States: Who was killed by the FBI before Joe Biden came to Utah?

A septuagenarian was killed in the United States on Wednesday, August 9, after threatening to kill President Joe Biden and other members of the US government.

The most protected man in the world is in no danger. An American man watched by local authorities for months for making threats against Joe Biden was shot dead by the FBI in Utah on Wednesday, hours before the president’s planned visit to the western state.

A suspect was killed early Wednesday morning as officers tried to arrest him in Provo, south of Salt Lake City, the FBI said.

The investigation is ongoing, federal police added, without providing details on the man. The latter was identified as Craig Robertson in a complaint by federal prosecutors in Utah.

According to the document, he is a septuagenarian who has portrayed himself as a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, and has repeatedly threatened Joe Biden in social media posts.

“The Time Has Come for the Assassination of the President”

The US president is not the only target of these potential attacks. Indeed, its Vice President Kamala Harris, Justice Secretary Merrick Garland and attorney Alvin Bragg — who oversaw the investigation that led to Donald Trump’s indictment in New York — were also threatened by agents of the FBI.

“Now is the time for a presidential assassination or two. First Joe then Kamala!!!”, or “I heard Biden is coming to Utah (…). I dust off the M24 rifle. Welcome, farce in-chief!”.

Photographs of several guns have also surfaced on social media.

The Secret Service, which is responsible for protecting senior state officials, said it was “aware of an FBI investigation involving an individual in Utah who threatened an individual protected by the Secret Service,” but did not provide further details.
