Quilter Bees

By: Mary-Beth Worley

On Oct. 26, 2015 Ferrum College held the Folklife Festival at which the Pleasant Quilters Bees

presented their finished quilts. The Pleasant Quilters are based out of Franklin County. Their quilts

normally take about two days to finish. They start at 9 a.m. and work until noon. After lunch, they

resume until around 3 p.m. They charge people according to the size of the quilt. Most of the money

they make from their quilts goes to missions or the Salvation Army. These talented women love making

quilts and they find it to be very therapeutic.
