The retail employees of a supermarket were mainly women, who had the right to compare themselves with the employees who worked in the supermarket’s warehouses, mainly men, for the purpose of demanding equal pay for work of equal value.

The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal filed by employer Asta Stores Ltd against the judgment of the Court of Appeal (Lord Sales, Lord Justice Underhill and Lord Justice Peter Jackson).[2019] ICR 1118) confirmed the results of the Employment Appeals Tribunal ([2018] ICR 384) and the Preliminary Employment Tribunal
