Starting time for Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, Asta and Sainsbury holidays

While large family gatherings are still unlimited this Easter, people can now meet outside in groups of six.

This means picnics and barbecues are on the cards – if the weather cooperates – and people will want to store their refrigerators because supermarkets run during reduced hours on bank holiday weekends.

Here’s when all the major chains are open between Good Friday and Easter Monday.

  • Good Friday – 8am to 8pm (Express stores open regular hours)
  • Saturday – 6am to 10pm (Express stores open regular hours)
  • Easter Sunday – Closed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, open in Scotland from 8am to 8pm (Express stores open during regular hours)
  • Easter Monday – 8am to 6pm in the UK and Wales, 8am to 8pm in Scotland, 10am to 7pm in Northern Ireland (express stores open hours)

Sainsbury’s

  • Good Friday – 8am – 8pm
  • Saturday – Normal time
  • Easter Sunday – Closed (some small shops may be open)
  • Easter Monday – 8am – 8pm
